With a large and easy-to-read watch face, the Garmin S10 ensures that you can quickly glance at the screen and get the information you need without any hassle. The high-resolution display offers clear visibility even in bright sunlight, eliminating any readability issues that may arise on the course.

I have played using my S10 in about 10 rounds of golf and I always find the screen readability to be easy on the eyes. Even in the brightest of sunlight in the Arizona summers, the screen brightness is just right.

When it comes to durability, the Garmin S10 is built to withstand the elements. It’s resistant to water and dust, making it suitable for use in any weather condition. Whether you're playing in the rain or dealing with a dusty course, the Garmin S10 will remain reliable and intact, ensuring that you can focus on your game without worrying about damaging the device.

GPS Tracking

One of the standout features of the Garmin S10 golf watch is its precise GPS tracking abilities. The watch utilizes advanced GPS technology to accurately measure your exact location on the course. This allows you to easily determine distances to hazards, fairways, and greens, enabling you to make more informed decisions during play.

With over 43,000 preloaded courses worldwide (as of July 2023), the Garmin S10 provides comprehensive course mapping. Simply select your course, and the watch will automatically detect and display the correct hole. This eliminates the need for manual input or guesswork, saving you time and effort.

Additionally, the GPS tracking feature of the Garmin S10 allows you to measure the distance of your shots accurately. By knowing precisely how far you hit each club, you can make better club selections and strategize your game accordingly. This is especially valuable when faced with hazards or when planning your approach to the green.

One thing that many people ask me about is how long does it take to load a course map. Once you arrive at the course, loading the course map involves pushing a button to start a round.

This initiates the watch to search for a satellite to provide your current location and subsequently to load the course database. This process can take on average between 15-45 seconds, in my experience. The watch tends to load the map faster when I’m outside without any overhead obstructions to block the signal.

Score Tracking

Keeping track of your score during a round of golf can be tedious and distracting. However, with the Garmin S10, you can effortlessly record your score with just a few clicks. This feature eliminates the need for manual scorecards and ensures accuracy in your scoring.

In real-game situations, I found the score keeping to work pretty well hole after hole. As you approach a green, the watch automatically switches to the score card and awaits input from you after you finish the hole. It’s a matter of simply pushing up or down on the side buttons to record your score. The only issue I noticed was sometimes the watch wouldn’t advance to the next hole after you recorded your score.

My guess is because the green of one hole may be close to the tee box of the next hole. The watch may be temporarily “confused” as to which hole you’re actually on.

In these infrequent instances, I manually advanced the watch to the next hole or I’ve also just hit off the next tee and as I proceeded down the fairway, the watch recognized I was at the next hole and changed the watch hole location accordingly.

Battery Life

The Garmin S10 boasts an impressive battery life that can last up to 12 hours in GPS mode. This means that you can easily complete multiple rounds of golf without having to worry about recharging the device. Additionally, the watch has a power-saving mode that extends battery life even further, making it ideal for longer golfing sessions.

The long battery life of the Garmin S10 ensures that you can focus on your game without any interruptions. You can confidently rely on the watch to provide accurate and reliable information throughout your rounds, without the need to constantly check the battery status.

Since I also wear my Garmin golf watch as a regular watch, I can easily go several days on a single charge if I’m not playing a round and utilizing the gps, which naturally requires more battery reserves to run. I regularly play a 4 hour 18-hole round and then can wear the watch without gps for at least several weeks before I need to charge it up.

Garmin Connect Syncing

The Garmin watch can sync to your desktop/laptop computer via the included USB charging/sync cable. Garmin Connect is the app that helps to track and organize all of your physical activity achieved while wearing a Garmin device, such as fitness watches and golf gps trackers.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Garmin S10 golf watch is a remarkable device that can significantly enhance your golfing experience. Its stylish design, accurate GPS tracking, ease of use, long battery life, and basic features make it a must-have for any golfer.
